Our Family

Liam Jamison & Ayla Snow

The happy ending we waited for.

The result from an overwhelming backing of support from our community, friends, and family – without Robert William, they wouldn’t have been possible.

In this blog you will find my writing and thoughts dated back to when the unthinkable occurred –  in late 2011, at 26 years old, my uterus ruptured while 16 weeks 3 days pregnant. We lost the life of our first son, Robert William, and my ability to ever carry another child of my own. Out of tragedy comes hope, or at least for us it did. I began blogging to try and inspire other infertile women to seek hope in times of despair.

5/24/2019: I am in the process of updating my blog with the latest information in our story, and detailing the newest journey for our family: my breast cancer diagnosis.

I want to continue to share with transparency this new path I’ve been asked to walk, as so many others are and will be, as well. These paths are paved with uncertainty, fear, and isolation. I want to share and inspire others to also find the beauty, hope, faith, and strength that is hidden in the paths like ours, also.

Please share my blog, my story, and my message of hope with those who you may know struggling with infertility, or pregnancy/child loss. We are members of a precious sisterhood of mothers, and we are all in this together.

Much love & happy reading,

Jamie

  1. Check out “A little story called life” for the most recent blogs. Entries from my journal post-tragedy can be found in “My recovery journal”, which are straight out of my personal diary. Happy reading, and remember – no foot is too small that it cannot leave an impact on this world! 🙂

  4. My husband got a vasectomy at age 21 before we got married. Now we both want a child and my only hope is IVF, however as you know that is very expensive. I would love to get some info on how to possibly get some help.
    Thank you,
    Brandi

  5. Hey Jaimie, I don’t know where you are with the Ellen show but I was watching Ricki Lake and maybe you could get on her show, I really think she would reach a good audience too! Just a suggestion. Hugs!

  6. Your story is very touching. I’m so glad to hear that surrogacy worked out great for you! I lost my daughter Faith to a ruptured bicornuate uterus in September 2009. By God’s graces, I was able to become pregnant a year later with my now soon to be 2 year old daughter Acacia. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your story. God bless you & your beautiful family. ❤

  7. I can’t even believe I came across this blog today of all days! I too suffered a ruptured uterus with a 10 week old fetus. Same story, passed out, pain, black outs, blood transfusions, I was told I was “one in a million” and although I have my uterus I was told I cannot have children. Depressed, devistated beyond words. I am contemplating surrogacy but we have no one in our family to help us so we will be paying quite a bit. Today was actually my due date 😦 Sad sad day for me 😦 Best of luck to you!
